Lignin, alkali, reaction products with formaldehyde and sodium bisulfite (CAS 68512-35-6) is a modified-lignin dispersant family related to lignosulfonate chemistry. It is a low-molecular-weight dispersant with moderate sodium sulfate content, used in dispersions with relatively low solids content.

Applications
This material family is used primarily as a dispersant and, in some formulations, as an intermediate in resin and adhesive production:
- Dye and pigment dispersion: used as a dispersing aid for vat dyes, reactive dyes, acid dyes, and in acid staining pad or pigment pad dyeing, including suspension pad dyeing of vat dye, leuco acid dyeing, disperse dyes, and solubilized vat dye dyeing. Also used for silk/wool interwoven fabric dyeing where avoiding dye transfer to the silk is required.
- Pesticide and fungicide formulation: may be evaluated as a formulation adjuvant — for example as a wetting agent that can help reduce spray-solution surface tension to improve coverage and spreading on plant surfaces. Performance and suitability depend on the specific active ingredient and formulation; evaluate case by case and follow applicable regulatory guidance.
- Rubber and latex: used as a stabilizing agent for rubber latex in some formulations.
- Other industrial dispersant uses: has been used across leather processing, textile printing and dyeing, ceramics, paper, oil drilling, electroplating additive formulations, and carbon black dispersion, depending on grade and formulation compatibility.
